CONTROL AND OPERATING PROCEDURES FOR THE SOUTH AFRICAN MODEL
AIRCRAFT ASSOCIATION AND IT`S MEMBERS.

This Manual has been prepared for the guidance of all SAMAA
Committees, Sub - committees and Members and others who wish to
participate in the building and flying of model aircraft.. It sets out
the policies and procedures to be used by the Management
Committee, other Committees the Registered Clubs, to run the
Association, and control Model Aircraft Flying in the RSA.
This Manual has been produced to fulfil
the requirements of the Amended Constitution of SAMAA as
published in the March 2005 SAMAA news, and the
South African Civil Aviation Authority approval
dated 15 November 2005 for the SAMAA to co-ordinate and control all
Radio Controlled Model Aircraft Activities in South
Africa.
This was followed by the Aero Club confirmation on the 01
February 2007 that SAMAA was the sole registered
ARO (Aviation Recreational Organisation) for
Model Aircraft operations in the RSA.
As amendments and changes are made to the Manual from time to time,
they will be incorporated initially, by the issue of a dated amendment
sheet, and in time by a re-issue of this Manual, and the updating of
information on the SAMAA website.
Ratified by the Management Committee in August 2007.
And Approved, at the SAMAA Association AGM on Wednesday the
31 October 2007, to come into full effect in April 2008.
