WELCOME Chairman welcomed everyone to the meeting.


MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING

Distributed via e-mail to committee. Correction to control line – G Swallow not appointed T/M. Minutes approved with one alteration.


FINANCES

LR produced financial statement. All okay. Several small disbursements.


CONSTITUTION

Regional interest groups probably more viable, but based on numbers and activity. JC to do draft (with JE and DA). State requirements, definitions, incentives, benefits, etc. Regional interest groups must have strong reporting structure.


SAFETY Safety doc in progress. Proof to JE for checking. No serious incidents of late.


ADMINISTRATION

All in hand. Request for club registration Zeerust, Lydenburg. Invoices for 31 Dec expiry to Nat Mailing Services.


NATIONALS

Planning of Scale/Aerobatics Nats in hand at Bloemfontein. Pylon/Large Scale Nats possibly at Vaal or RMAC 3/4/5 May. Glider Nats at Silverton on 17/18/19 May. Control line Nats over Easter may see international entry.


SAMAA News.

To print on 12 Nov. Letter of complaint re service from dealer. Renewals for 2002 to have question of download from web, or hard copy.


DISPLAYS.

Display in October at Sacred Heart (fun fly and helis). Heli display at Wanderers. Report in next issue of S News.


AEROBATICS

SA Masters very successful. First leg of team selection. Venue to be changed for 2002 to field capable of two uninterrupted flight lines. Possibility of SA judge at continental champs.




LARGE AIRCRAFT AND SCALE AEROBATICS

TOC 6/7 October at RMAC had 3 judges, 4 back-to-back rounds. Only unknown and freestyle. Social event at Benoni on 18 November.


FUN FLYING & PROFICIENCY

FF Masters successful, despite weather. 13 events (9 on Saturday). Concern expressed at incidents; result of ambiguity in rules? Unsportsmanlike behaviour. Patches sent to Kimberley. Letter sent to Ludwig Steyn. JE to draft policy document regarding disciplinary action (corrective action).


SOARING

Full minutes received of MGA meeting.. Good national communication. SSC Southeaster used as vehicle. Activity in most disciplines.


HELICOPTERS - No report. Any activity?


SCALE

Fourth round of SS flown. Activity in Natal. Otherwise quiet time. Swartkop Scale scheduled for 14/16 June 2002. Swartkop AFB probably under trust by then.


CONTROL LINE

NCB year-end function 25 November. Belvedere Guest Houe – all welcome (bring own meat). GS resigned from NCB committee. Masters is last event in T/S process, only event for junior selection.


PYLON RACING

Event at Vaal RF 9 November. Eight participants likely.


COMMUNICATIONS.

GENERAL

• Indoor R/C and F/F event in Sundome, last weekend in January 2002. No IC. C/L also possible.

• Committee year-end function at Cleopatras.

• Shirt artwork to G Swallow (BS)

• DA’s old spectrum analyser available as frequency monitor. DA to suggest hire fee.
