ADMINISTRATION
All in hand. Joining rate of new members continue.

NATIONALS
Control line - Combat to be flown at R/C Nats. Rest of Nats was wet.
Good entry with enjoyable atmosphere. Informal settlement encrouching on
NCB field. Unanimous decision to take out subscription to magazine for
Paul Smit, paralysed in motorcycle crash.
Soaring - All under control for Silverton, 23 - 25 September.
Power - All under control. Entries reasonable. Good PR should see large
crowds.

SAMAA NEWS
Deadline extended to 26th April. Next issue in draft form. All to respond
with articles. BS to supply JG with info on AGM (notice, agenda, etc.).

AEROBATICS
Quiet month. Free State champs cancelled. BS elected at CIAM meeting to
chairman of F3A sub-committee. Honour for SA and SAMAA for first time ever.
Committee will have to consider funding to Bureau meetings every second year.

LARGE AIRCRAFT AND SCALE AEROBATICS
Fairly quiet in anticipation of Nats (20 entries). 19th March event at White
 Hills rained out.

FUN FLYING
First round results all in, with 76 participants. Problem with scoring
programme. 48 clubs on mailing list. DA to meet with A van Eeden during
Nats.

SOARING
Silverton leading Postals. Craig G first. First team trial for F3B saw 9
entries. New SA speed record by Craig G (15,6 secs, w/record = 14,07 secs.).
Natal Thermal Champs successful. TA and D Cranke conversed. TA agreed to
send cheque once funds have been transferred to MGA account.

Quiet. LL received details from DA regarding heli proficiencies. BS to
start doing certificates.

Fliers.

SCALE
Little to report. L/Scale issue communicated to all parties. Nats
arrangements in hand.

CONTROL LINE
Judges training clinic in May. Accent on practical aspect.

PYLON RACING
Entries for Nats encouraging, except F3D, to be cancelled.

DISPLAYS
No report.

COMMUNICATIONS
1000 hits for first time since introduction. 2/3 visits are local, rest
from abroad.

GENERAL
· Ehlers' Equation (EE) modified with Godwin's Axion/Hypothesis (GA/H).
All in favour of pro-rata reward for international teams.
· More efforts to be channeled into development. Craig G suggests series
of workshops.
· CIAM discussed briefly. Documents to be disseminated by BS among
competitive disciplines.
· No application received for Vryheid flying site (no knowledge of activity
in Vryheid).
· RD advises that P Lott will re-join CAA. Hopefully this will benefit
SAMAA as current links with CAA almost non-existent.

NEXT MEETING - WEDNESDAY 3rd MAY 2000 AT SBBW, CEDARWOOD OFFICE PARK,
 WOODMEAD - 19:30 for 19:45.
