Probably the best slope that you will ever get to is a place called Mauseberg. Its about 15km after Sabie on your way towards Graskop. There is a sharp right hand bend in the road, and at this point you turn left onto the dirt road, carry on along this road for about 6km, and you will come to a MAJOR fork in the road. Take the left split here and carry on along the road following the Green boards with White arrows on them. The last time I was up there the road was in good condition due to the fact that they use it alot to get to the radio towers at the top of the slope. Wind Direction......ANY. Uses.....DS, Speed, etc etc etc.and loads of FUN FUN FUN ! The other options are easy to get to. One being on the way up Long Tom Pass coming from Sabie. As you go past the old Cannon that is called Long Tom funny, its called the same as the pass:-) you will come to a clearing on your right hand side just after the tree line, about 200m from the monument. Park anywhere you feel like and begin to have fun with the regular N-N/e winds. Uses........Not much bigger than 2m purely due to lack of high winds. The top of Long Tom Pass is also accessable from the main road, with a concrete path leading all the way up to the top. Go up the pass towards Lydenburg, just around the crest of the pass you will see the concrete road leading off to the left, take this and follow to top. Uses....just about anything, but keep ships small due to un-favourable landing area's. Graskop has a nice site where you can fly off. If you make your way to the local runway, on the Graskop/ Hazyview road, the strip will be on your left hand side. Park next to one of the hangers and take a short stroll to the cliff face about 400 m away. Wind DIrections.....N/Ne. Uses....regular stuff like wings etc etc etc. Robbers pass has a cute slope for small stuff. Go through Pilgrams Rest towards Chrystal springs, and you will go past a viewing point on your right about 7km out of Pilgrams. This is a nice slope for the small stuff, and every now and then you get to show your stuff in front of a tourist bus that decides to stop there and enjoy the views. Uses......Light wings, foamies, and small ships that are light and less than 1m ( again, landing is an issue) All of these above slopes are easily accessable by "normal" car, but it is best not to go immidiately after a rain session. ( muddy roads dont like the logging trucks) but they are mostly a short stretch of dirt and just off the tar. When I think of more I'll certain post them on to the site for you. Enjoy. Cheers Martin
